A Day in the Life
Driving a project from start to finish.
Working out what the problem is and how to solve it
Hosting meetings to get status updates from people and presenting on progress
Networking with a lot of different teams
Updating senior management on progress
Highlighting risks and issues that occur
Completing and updating timelines and RACIs etc. in the project management plan
Launching products and processes with departments or sites across the network
Closing documents for a finished project

Additional Details
Work from home vs in the office
It is flexible, but I work from home three times a week and in the office twice a week. We can work from anywhere in the world for 30 days a year.
How is work assigned?
Work is assigned by my manager depending on how much resource I have when a new project is launched.
Is your role client-focussed?
We do work with clients a lot. Depending on the project, there is just automatically clients assigned.
Do you take a professional qualification?
There are a few qualifications you can take – I am awaiting results from the final PMQ exam.
Career Progression
Lots of career progression. Above me, there are senior PMs, Programme Managers, and Heads of Departments

- It comes in ebbs and flows – sometimes you will be really busy, and other times you will have downtime where not many things need doing
- Need to be good at hosting meetings and confident in presenting to people
- I enjoy the work – if you like getting things complete from nothing to actually seeing a beneficial change, PM is a good place to start
